# Rule 2.1: how the wording changed (Irish handball, softball (60x30)) 16 rulebooks state this rule, from January 2009 to 25 June 2026. The wording was reworded or changed 15 times. ## How to read this - Added words are marked [+ like this +]; removed words [- like this -]. - Each rulebook says what kind of change it is: unchanged, punctuation only, moved, reworded or changed. - A program matched each clause with the one before it. Automatic matches were made by the program alone; machine-reviewed ones were also checked by a second program. A person has not checked either. ## Rulebook by rulebook | Date | Rulebook | Clauses, by kind of change | | --- | --- | --- | | January 2009 | Irish handball, softball (60x30), January 2009 | 9 first recorded | | January 2019 | Irish one-wall / Wallball (GAA), January 2019 | 1 first recorded | | March 2020 | International four-wall (40x20), March 2020 | 9 unchanged | | March 2020 | Irish handball, hardball (60x30 alley game), March 2020 | 9 unchanged | | March 2020 | Irish handball, softball (60x30), March 2020 | 1 first recorded, 2 moved, 5 reworded, 2 changed | | 4 February 2024 | International four-wall (40x20), 4 February 2024 | 9 unchanged | | 4 February 2024 | Irish handball, hardball (60x30 alley game), 4 February 2024 | 9 unchanged | | 4 February 2024 | Irish handball, softball (60x30), 4 February 2024 | 10 unchanged | | 9 February 2025 | International four-wall (40x20), 9 February 2025 | 5 unchanged, 1 punctuation only, 4 moved, 2 reworded | | 9 February 2025 | Irish handball, hardball (60x30 alley game), 9 February 2025 | 5 unchanged, 5 moved, 2 changed | | 9 February 2025 | Irish handball, softball (60x30), 9 February 2025 | 10 first recorded, 5 moved, 2 reworded | | 9 February 2025 | Irish one-wall / Wallball (GAA), 9 February 2025 | 1 moved | | 25 June 2026 | International four-wall (40x20), 25 June 2026 | 2 unchanged, 10 punctuation only | | 25 June 2026 | Irish handball, hardball (60x30 alley game), 25 June 2026 | 3 unchanged, 8 punctuation only, 1 reworded | | 25 June 2026 | Irish handball, softball (60x30), 25 June 2026 | 3 unchanged, 13 punctuation only, 1 reworded | | 25 June 2026 | Irish one-wall / Wallball (GAA), 25 June 2026 | 1 unchanged | ## The wording ### Rule 2.1, part 1 of 20 - **January 2009, Irish handball, softball (60x30)**: First recorded (automatic).
